Master bedroom re-do

When we moved into our house 5 years ago we did a faux treatment on the wall behind our bed with crinkled tissue paper, then we painted it. I was never "in love" with the way it turned out so in July of last year (while my husband was out of town) I decided to re-paint my room.
Wall and bed before...boy what a mess it was to remove this faux treatment! It was worse than removing wallpaper! I know it's hard to believe but imagine tissue paper stuck to the wall like wallpaper! YUCK!!! Once I decided that I was going to paint I also decided to change my bedding! I have been trying to get something that goes with the wall instead of making the walls go with the bed!
TV armour wall before!
Here is the new paint, bedding and lamps! I ended up painting the walls a mocha color...which I must say I LOVE! I got a chocolate brown coverlet and light sage green pillows and throw. The lamps are black urn style with black shades and I put the lamps up on some books! I still have not hung up new curtains or any pictures on the wall...still deciding on what I want up there!

Welcome to blog land dear. Look at Missy sitting there against the wall. Love the room, now to get your quilt done to go in it. Grin.

Hello, I came over from a soft place to land's blog. I always look on the McKlinky links and when there is a room re-do I CLICK! Your room looks really nice and warming now, great choice of colors. I saw that tissue treatment at a retail store one time and loved it, I can't even imagine how long it took you to take that off!
I wanted to throw my two cents in for finishing off of the wall above your bed. I noticed that your drapes hang right above the top of the window, can you add anything to the bottom of the drapes to make them longer so that you can hang them higher? Say a cream fabric panel that matches your bedding? If you buy another pair of cream panels, you can railroad them and add it to the bottom of the drappery. If you don't sew, you could use iron on hemming tape. That way, you can utilize more of the wall above your bed, and not feel like it is out of proportion and it will make the room seem bigger and grander. I noticed that you have a collage of picture frames on one of your walls, you could put those above your bed and even add more to the space. Or what I really see there is one of those cool vinyl sayings that you see everywhere! Just some of my thoughts, I crave interior design, I can't help myself! I love what you have done so far.
Take care,
Stephanie
