Re-fashioning my closet

So I have been following Jillian, she is a master re-fashionista! She inspired me to want to see what I could change up in my closet or items I found at the thrift store!

I started out with something SUPER easy! My original picture is missing...humm? And people say technology is supposed to help us...WHATEVER! Okay...okay so most of the time it does help but not right now! Anyways, this skirt was about 4 layers longer! Each layer is sewn together so for this refashion I just unstitched it so that it was shorter! BAM! short bright layered skirt...much better! It was cute long however it was TOO MUCH for me!!

Here is my first true re-fashion...although this strapless dress is cute the way it is, I have owned it for 6 months or more and have not worn it! I began to wonder what I could do to it so that I would wear it...

I thought I would turn it into a top and a skirt...well so much for thinking! I don't like the way the top turned out! It has elastic in the wrong spot and it is not long enough but it will be great for working in the yard to keep from getting a farmers tan!

As for the skirt...LOVE IT! I do wish it was a bit longer however I got compliments when I wore it to class that night! YEAH!

My next refashion came from a local thrift store...love the print on this skirt, black with teal minty poka dots! However the style is outdated!

I have seen a lot of skirt that are shorter in the front and longer in the back so that is what I set out to create! Man, this is hard...I thought it would be easy peesy! WRONG!! After trimming it several times I finally got it to look okay but I was concerned that it would be too short...

Here is the final product! It looks okay, not too short! YEAH!
However, I think that it needs a liner along the back so that the stitching can't be seen and the long side seems to straight..Humm??!

Go check out Jillian at ReFashionista! She is the BEST refashioner I have seen...although her followers are pretty amazing too! So instead of getting rid of the clothes you don't wear...maybe, just maybe you can refashion them into something new and exciting that you WILL wear?!  Something to think about!!
